In empirical studies with random error variance, replicability refers to the probability of a study that obtained a statistically significant result to obtain a statistically significant results again in a second study that reproduces the conditions of the original study exactly with the same sample size and significance criterion.

The Replicability-Index can be used to examine the replicability of empirical results in the scientific literature.
